Saint Vincent will serve as the host program for the 2022 NCAA Division III women’s volleyball championship Nov. 17-19 at Duquesne’s UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse.

The 2018 championship also was played at Duquesne at the then-A.J. Palumbo Center.

It marked the first time a Presidents’ Athletic Conference member was selected to host a NCAA championship event.

Football

East Carolina: Junior defensive back Robert Kennedy (Jeannette) had two tackles in Saturday’s 27-23 loss to Navy. Kennedy has seen time as a backup in all four games for the Pirates, as had teammate Trent Holler (Latrobe), a 6-foot-2, 311-pound redshirt freshman lineman.

Women’s cross country

Westmoreland County Community College: Sophomore Brooke Bertovich was named NJCAA Cross Country and Track & Field Division III Women’s Runner of the Week. Bertovich recorded a personal-best time of 32 minutes, 12.58 seconds to win the Lynx Invitational. It was her fourth win of the season in as many races.
