The Seton Hill women’s basketball team developed a reputation for being one of the top 3-point shooting teams in Division II last season, and the Griffins aren’t changing the way they play.

High-scoring Seton Hill made 33 shots from 3-point range in its first two games. It hit a school-record 18 of 49 attempts in a 93-82 win over Concord, then made 15 of 33 in a 93-73 victory against Fairmont State.

Senior Lexi Civittolo made five 3s and led the team with 23 points in the opener, and junior Cheyenne Trest scored 23.

In the second game, redshirt sophomore Tiana Stewart made five 3s and led five double-figure scorers with 18 points.

The eye-opening game that first put Seton Hill’s run-and-gun style on display was a 127-99 win over West Virginia State. The Griffins made 17 3s that night.

They made 254 of 758 3-point shots last season (25 attempts a game) and averaged 76.8 points.

Junior guard Courtney Cecere was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week.
