Westmoreland campus clippings: Seton Hill women's lacrosse rolls on
Seton Hill’s women’s lacrosse is making up for lost time from last season by winning every match this season.
Led by their seniors, the Griffins improved to 9-0 and clinched the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference title with a 10-8 victory over Mercyhurst.
Senior Kristi Kada scored a team-leading four goals, and senior Jaclyn Frank had two goals and two assists and senior Kamille Ward made 13 saves in net.
Ward was named PSAC West Defender of the Week.
The Griffins are ranked No. 22 in this week’s IWLCA Division II Top 25.
Saint Vincent: Senior Lucy Volna scored net six times, and sophomore Kaylee Bandow, junior Joey Smith and freshman Bridget Doyle scored three times each in a 21-9 win over Westminster. SVC is 5-4.
Washington & Jefferson: Sophomore Becca Ghion (Yough) has 11 goals and an assist in six games this season for the Presidents.
Waynesburg: Sophomore Eve O’Sullivan (Latrobe) leads the Yellow Jackets (0-8) with 17 points — 15 goals and two assists — and teammate sophomore Rachel Caldwell (Ligonier Valley) checks in with three goals and three assists.

Men’s tennis
Pitt-Greensburg: The second-seeded Bobcats played to a strong finish in the Alleheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament, reaching the final before losing to Mt. Aloysius.
It was the program’s second appearance in the conference title match.
UPG held off Penn State Behrend in the semifinals, 5-4, as senior Vaughn Hunkele earned a key, 10-6 win at No. 2 singles to propel the Bobcats.
Hunkele also teamed with junior Turner Price (Penn-Trafford) for a win at No. 1 doubles. Price also earned a singles win.
Saint Vincent: Freshman David Lynn was named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after going 2-0 in a 5-4 win over Geneva.

Men’s lacrosse
Allegheny: Sophomore goalie David Kratzenberg (Greensburg Central Catholic) is 0-1 in net this season, with 10 saves.
Saint Vincent: Zack Novelli, sophomore Jordan Billet, sophomore Caleb Hawkins, junior Max Schuler, junior Alec Richard and grad student Miitchell Bachman scored twice each as the Bearcats (7-2) defeated Westminster, 14-9.
Sophomore Jacob Visalli scored five goals, and Billet added four in a 21-2 win over Washington & Jefferson.
Sophomore Matt Cassidy was named PAC Offensive Player of the Week. He had three goals and five assists in the win over Washington & Jefferson and tallied 10 points for the week.
Seton Hill: Senior Thomas Hanulak had three goals, and senior Zack Estabrooks, sophomore Layne Harich and grad students Ryan Manbeck and Logan Maloni had two apiece as the Griffins downs Lake Erie, 17-7.
Seton Hill is ranked No. 7 this week’s USILA Division II Coaches Poll.

Westminster: Sophomore Baylee Horvath (Franklin Regional) helped the Titans win their third consecutive PAC championship as she posted a two-round total of 183 (89-94) for a seventh-place finish at Squaw Creek in Vienna, Ohio. The finish earned her All-PAC second team honors. Two others local players also are team members: junior Jocelyn Behr (Franklin Regional) and sophomore Olivia Ledbetter (Southmoreland).

Otterbein: Senior Hannah Dobrinick (Penn-Trafford) leads the team with a .421 average, 32 hits, six home runs and 17 RBIs in 28 games.
Penn: Junior Emma Nedley (Penn-Trafford) is hitting .333 with a team-high 10 hits, two home runs and six RBIs for the Quakers (5-4).
Point Park: Freshman Angalee Beall (Franklin Regional) is hitting .313 with four doubles and nine RBIs, and, as a pitcher, is 7-6 with a 3.69 ERA.
Pitt-Greensburg: Brittany Dunn went 4 for 6, and sophomore Hannah Corvin (Southmoreland), sophomore Ashley Noel (Latrobe), and freshman Taylor Bojtos (Ligonier Valley) collected three hits each as the Bobcats (6-13-1) split a doubleheader with a La Roche, winning the second game 6-4.
Robert Morris: Freshman pitcher Jane Garver (Ligonier Valley) picked up her first college save, throwing three no-hit innings as the Colonials held off IUPUI, 5-3.

Grove City: Freshman Gabe Dunlap (Penn-Trafford) placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 38 feet, 2 1/4 inches at the Grove City Invitational.
Seton Hill: Junior Sam Hartman posted two more NCAA provisional times and two more wins (110- and 400-meter hurdles) at the Bill Lennox Invitational at Slippery Rock. His time of 13.92 seconds in the 110 hurdles broke a school record.
Other winners for the Griffins were senior Ben Bickerton in the 5K, sophomore Hunter Martin (Belle Vernon) in the triple jump and junior Alex Martin in the shot put.
Hartman was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week.
Waynesburg: Freshman Andrew Kemerer (Yough) took third place in the triple jump and finished fifth in the long jump at the Grove City Invitational.

Women’s track & field
Clarion: Sophomore Jenna Uncapher (Hempfield) placed fifth in the heptathlon at the Mike Kowal Multi with 3,667 points. She took second in the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 44.69 seconds and was runner-up in the high jump. Her other finishes were a fourth in the javelin and ninth in the long jump.
Seton Hill: The Griffins had four first-place finishes at the Bill Lennox Invitational at Slippery Rock. Junior Alexis Cunningham won the 800, junior Sydney Wolf was first in the 1,500, grad student Sarah Johnson won the 400 hurdles and freshman Leah Kennedy won the shot put.

Valparaiso: Sophomore forward Kiley Dugan (Penn-Trafford) was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference first team. She had one goal, which was a game-winner, and 17 shots for Valpo (5-3-5), which advanced to the MVC championship.

Point Park: Senior Matt D’Amico (Greensburg Salem) posted a team-best 5-over-par 77 in a 319-385 dual-match win over Carlow at Youghiogheny Country Club.
Washington & Jefferson: Senior Ben Peticca (Franklin Regional) finished third at the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational at Southpointe Golf Club with an 80.
