Westmoreland County Community College trio receive post-season baseball honors

Three Westmoreland County Community College freshmen baseball players earned All-Region XX team honors and Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference honors.

The first team All-Region XX first team honors went to freshman infielder Tyler Kuhns (Latrobe) and freshman outfielder Nico Cuello.

Kuhns had a .373 batting average with 31 hits and 11 RBIs. He also had 30 strikeouts on the mound.

Cuello was a strong outfielder with 61 putouts and a .970 field percentage. He led the team in doubles with seven among his 21 hits this season and finished with a .292 batting average.

Freshman Justin Brestensky (Freeport) received honorable mention honors. He had a .316 batting average and led the team with 18 runs.

The trio also earned All-WPCC honors.

Kuhns, Cuello, Brestensky, and five others are expected to return for coach Mike Draghi and for next season.
