Wet weather that arrived in Oakmont just before the end of the second round of the U.S. Open on Friday has forced some changes to the tournament schedule.

Spectator gates will not open until 8 a.m. Saturday, and shuttle buses from the red lot at Hartwood Acres and the blue lot at Monroeville Mall will start running at 7:30 a.m., the USGA announced Friday night.

The USGA also advised fans that some parts of the Oakmont Country Club grounds might be wet or muddy, so fans should wear appropriate shoes and be careful.

On Saturday morning, the USGA said if ticket holders “choose not to attend under these circumstances, a full refund will be provided for their Saturday ticket.”

There were 13 players left on the course Friday evening when play was suspended due to bad weather and darkness.

Those players will finish their second rounds starting at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. When the round is complete, tee times for Round 3 will be announced.

Golfers will play in twosomes teeing off on No. 1 from about 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for showers and a chance of thunderstorms Saturday with an 80% chance of precipitation and rainfall of a quarter to a half-inch possible.
