Tyler Horvat had a breakthrough season in 2021 for the Washington & Jefferson baseball team, showing his versatility as a pitcher and hitter.

The junior utility player out of Penn-Trafford is expected to be one of best again in 2022 as he was named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-American Team.

Senior pitcher Henry Littman, Horvat’s teammate, joined him on the first team.

The Presidents’ Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year, Horvat was 9-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 70 innings and struck out 71.

A starting outfielder when he wasn’t on the mound, Horvat led off a potent lineup and batted .366 with 17 extra base hits and 34 RBI. He tied for the PAC lead in triples (five) and was fourth in the PAC in slugging percentage (.630).

He and Littman, the PAC Pitcher of the Year (9-0, 1.49 ERA), both earned All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com. They helped W&J to a 38-3 record, another PAC title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
