Latrobe graduate Brady Pevarnik, South Fayette’s Luke Lestini, Central Catholic’s Neal Shipley and Fox Chapel’s Gregor Meyer are just some of the top golfers competing in the 99th annual Western Pennsylvania Golf Association’s Junior Championship on Wednesday at Westmoreland Country Club in Export.

The four golfers from the WPIAL all qualified for the 2018 PIAA championship.

Peters Township’s Hunter Bruce has won the past two titles. Bruce became the 12th two-time champion in the 98 years of the event and 12th repeat winner, the first since Peters Township’s William Miller won three consecutive titles (2003-2005).

There are 60 golfers competing. They will play 36 holes.

Murrysville’s Palmer Jackson was the 2018 winner for the first time. Jackson finished second three times.

The first tee time on Thursday is 8 a.m.
