Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington (13) runs against the Green Bay Packers during an NFL football game Sunday, Oct 3. 2021, in Green Bay, Wis.

After losing JuJu Smith-Schuster to a season-ending shoulder injury last weekend, the Pittsburgh Steelers got some positive news Friday about the availability of two other starting wide receivers.

Chase Claypool and James Washington returned to practice after being limited participants Wednesday and Thursday, and they no longer are listed on the injury report for the Steelers’ game Sunday night against the Seattle Seahawks at Heinz Field.

Washington did not play last weekend against Denver because of a groin injury, and Claypool aggravated a hamstring injury during the game.

Their return to health means the Steelers will have five available wide receivers for the prime-time game. Diontae Johnson, Cody White and Ray-Ray McCloud were the only healthy receivers on the roster heading into practice Friday.

The only player not to participate in the final practice of the week was Smith-Schuster. Backup defensive lineman Carlos Davis (knee) was limited. He will miss his fifth consecutive game.

Also returning to practice was cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon. He missed the previous day because of a coach’s decision. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral/hip) practiced fully for the second day in a row as did defensive lineman Cameron Heyward (neck).

Cornerback Cam Sutton, who missed the game last weekend against Denver with a groin injury, was a full participant for the third day in a row as was inside linebacker Devin Bush, who injured his groin against Denver.
