WVU men's basketball road game with Baylor rescheduled for Feb. 25
The West Virginia men’s basketball team will play one of its two games against Baylor on Feb. 25 in Waco, Texas, the Big 12 Conference and Mountaineers athletic department announced Monday.
The road game for WVU had been postponed twice, the first time Jan. 12 when WVU was not able to meet the conference-established covid-19 requirements necessary to play the game.
It was rescheduled for Thursday but had to be moved again, this time because Baylor was not able to meet the covid-19 requirements.
The Mountaineers and Bears were also slated to play Monday in Morgantown, but that game also was postponed. No rescheduled date for that game has been announced.
WVU also has had home games with TCU and Oklahoma State postponed. Those contests also have not been rescheduled.
The Mountaineers, 14-6 overall and 7-4 in the conference, last played Saturday when they suffered a 91-90 loss to Oklahoma in double overtime.
The setback snapped a three-game winning streak. Despite the loss, WVU ticked up one spot to No. 13 in the latest Associated Press poll released Monday. Oklahoma (13-5) moved up three spots to No. 9.
The Mountaineers are scheduled to return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday with a top-25 matchup at No. 12 Texas (13-5).
