World Wrestling Entertainment is known for its commitment to touring. With no offseason, WWE always touted its more than 250 live events a year around the world.

The covid-19 pandemic changed that, and since March 2020, it forced WWE to produce more than seven hours of live, weekly content from closed sets in venues in Florida.

On July 16, WWE returns to the road with a touring schedule of dates already announced stretching into September. One of the first stops is in Pittsburgh, July 24 at PPG Paints Arena. It is being dubbed a “Super Show,” with talent from both Monday’s “RAW” and Friday’s “SmackDown” rosters.

The Trib recently spoke to WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, who was world champion for a majority of the empty-arena shows, to discuss returning to normal and much more.
