The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will no longer require masks at its theaters and facilities starting next week after the number of covid-19 cases in Allegheny County dropped below a high rate of transmission.

Beginning Tuesday, guests are not required to wear masks at indoor events.

The announcement came after the county dropped to the medium transmission zone as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The number of new covid cases reported to the county health department from June 2-8 dropped to 2,616. That’s down from 3,135 in the seven days prior and from 4,386 two weeks ago.

Masking will be required again by the trust if cases once again reach a high transmission level.

If there are any changes to the covid-19 community level status in Allegheny County, the trust will adjust its entry requirements beginning three business days after the status change. Allegheny’s current transmission rates can be found on the CDC’s website.

Officials noted that guests are welcome to continue masking if they choose.

Proof of vaccination may be required as determined by the artist or promoter of individual touring productions, although vaccination checks are not required for any upcoming events at this time. Any requirements will be noted on individual event pages and in pre-show emails to guests.

Anyone experiencing covid-19 symptoms is asked to stay home and contact 412-456-6666 for ticketing options.
