Officials identify man killed in McKees Rocks shooting -- the second shooting within hours
The man who was killed early Tuesday morning in a McKees Rocks shooting has been identified.
Keith Wicks, 39, from McKees Rocks, died at around 6 a.m. in a hospital after he was shot at 2 a.m. on Island Avenue, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Authorities said Wicks and three other adults were inside a parked vehicle when shots apparently were fired at it. The driver fled and crashed into a utility pole.
Police said there were no suspects or motive.
Two and a half hours before that shooting, a boy was injured in another shooting at around 11:30 p.m. Monday on Mary Street.
He taken to a hospital after being found with a gunshot wound to the leg. Evidence of a shooting was found nearby, police said.
Authorities did not say how old the boy was, but they believe he was expected to survive.
It was unclear if the shootings were related.
