Kahil K. Mutadabur, 21, of Millvale died after he was hit by a vehicle Oct. 24 while walking on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County. The vehicle did not stop, and state police are still investigating.

A 2023 Shaler Area graduate died in a hit-and-run Oct. 24 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Beaver County, according to state police.

The incident happened about 2:14 a.m. on the turnpike in North Sewickley Township, between New Castle and Cranberry.

According to state police, Khalil K. Mutadabur was walking west in the eastbound lanes when an eastbound vehicle hit him and kept going, state police said.

No information on the vehicle has been released. State police would not say why Mutadabur was walking on the turnpike.

State police have asked anyone with information or leads to call them at 724-443-5907 or 800-932-0586.

Shaler Area Superintendent Bryan O’Black confirmed Mutadabur was a graduate of the district.

“Our heartfelt condolences are with Khalil’s family and friends, and I encourage all who knew Khalil to keep him and his loved ones in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” O’Black said in a statement.

Mutadabur of Millvale was the son of Jacqueline and Sultaun Mutadabur, according to his obituary. He had five siblings.

Known to many as “Kino Sway,” Mutadabur was a musical artist who began creating music at 15.

Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hahn Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 123 North Ave., Millvale. Services will be held there at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
