Three current members and a newcomer were elected to the Chartiers Valley School Board.

Incumbents Megan Sexton, Lisa Trainor and Mitch Montani, and newcomer Mark Fiorilli won seats to the school board, according to unofficial election results from Allegheny County.

Sexton led the way with 6,992 votes, followed by Fiorilli with 6,792, Trainor with 6,669 and Montani with 6,518.

Candidate Mark Dodson finished fifth with 3,860 votes.

Fiorilli, Montani, Sexton and Trainor released a joint statement on their win:

“We would like to thank the voters of Chartiers Valley for their overwhelming support in this election. The resounding sentiment is that the community has concerns about the district’s current trajectory.

“Chartiers Valley has many educational and financial challenges ahead. We are committed to long-term planning, transparent budgeting and putting our students first.”
