Pittsburgh Police have a charged a Baldwin man with attempted homicide in connection with a shooting in Mt. Washington early Thursday morning.

Brandon Becher, 21, was taken into custody shortly after the 2 a.m. shooting along Bailey Avenue, Pittsburgh police announced.

Officers from the city’s Zone 3 station responded to a Shotspotter gunfire alert on Sept. 30 and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the leg. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. His identity was not released.

Becher also was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a firearm.

He is in the Allegheny County Jail after bail was denied at a preliminary arraignment.

Becher was denied bail because he is considered a “danger to the community,” according to court record records.

A preliminary hearing on the charges is scheduled for Oct. 13 before District Judge Kim Berkeley Clark.
