The suspect, Phillip Payne, is accused of shooting Dontae McKenith, 18, at a residence in the 1200 block of Soles Street around 2 a.m. Saturday, county homicide detectives said. Payne and the victim were handling the gun prior to the fatal shooting, police said, when Payne allegedly pointed the gun at McKeith and pulled the trigger.
