McCandless Town Manager Robert Grimm leaving his post
McCandless Town Manager Bob Grimm will be leaving his post June 3.
“I have enjoyed my time in McCandless and am proud to have guided the organization through the uncertain times of the pandemic and I’ve hopefully helped establish a course of continued financial stability and professional delivery of services to the residents and businesses of the town,” Grimm said.
Grimm began as McCandless town manager in 2019, after his predecessor Toby Cordek retired. Prior to that, Grimm spent 20 years as the manager at North Fayette Township. He also previously worked for local governments in Beaver Falls, Bellevue, Oil City and Fairmont, W.Va.
Grimm will be joining a consulting firm that focuses primarily on the planning and design of civil infrastructure, he said, though he declined to name the specific company.
“It won’t be easy leaving work I’ve done for 40 years or the people I enjoy being around, however I am looking forward to the new opportunities ahead of me to make a difference,” Grimm said.
McCandless officials will form a search committee to perform a comprehensive search for their next town manager. In the interim between Grimm’s departure and the hiring of a new town manager, an interim manager may be appointed.
“He will be greatly missed, and I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Bob for his service to the town,” McCandless Council President Mike Tarle said. “Given our size, our resources and our wonderful community, it is my belief that the town will attract quality candidates for the position.”
Grimm said he would miss working alongside the people of McCandless.
“They are wonderful people and true professionals,” he said. “In my mind, they are the best of the best.”
