A McKeesport woman was hospitalized after she apparently pulled out in front of a state police cruiser Tuesday morning in Elizabeth Township, according to troopers.

Ashlee L. Honaker, 38, was trying to cross Route 51 at 8:15 a.m. in a Toyota 4-Runner when authorities said she pulled out in front of a marked state police SUV and the two collided. The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the highway at the intersection of Round Hill Road and Hutchinson Road.

Honaker was taken by ambulance to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment of what police described as serious injuries.

The trooper, a 39-year-old man who was not identified in a news release, was not hurt.

That intersection, which is controlled by traffic signals, has been the site of five crashes since 2014, according to PennDOT crash data.
