The off-ramp from northbound Route 28 to northbound Route 8 in Etna will be closed overnight Wednesday, PennDOT announced Monday.

The left-hand off-ramp will be closed for guide rail replacement work from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.

The posted detour will be:

• Continue past the closed ramp on northbound Route 28

• Take the Highland Park Bridge/Aspinwall exit

• Bear right for the off-ramp to Sharpsburg/Aspinwall

• Turn left onto Freeport Road

• Bear left for south Route 28/Pittsburgh

• Take the north Route 8/Etna/Butler exit.

Drivers can check conditions on major roadways by visiting 511pa.com. The free site provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts traffic speed information and access to more than 1,200 traffic cameras.
