Crews remove stuck garbage truck with giant crane near Birmingham Bridge
Crews used a large crane Monday night to lift an 80,000-pound garbage truck that got stuck earlier in the day after falling through a concrete parking area just off Fifth Avenue near the Birmingham Bridge in Pittsburgh.
The complicated preparation and lift by Allegheny Crane Rental took more than eight hours, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Parts of Fifth Avenue and the Boulevard of the Allies were closed for several hours while crews lifted the truck free and assessed damage.
Concrete under the rear end of a Vogel Disposal Service truck broke, according to photos posted to Twitter by the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

No one from Vogel could be reached Monday.
Pittsburgh Public Safety officials were not immediately available for comment.
