A portion of Oak Hill Road in Hampton Township was closed Monday morning after a crash damaged the bridge at Hardies Lake.

The road was closed between West Hardies Road and Lakemont Drive, according to township officials.

The closure came after a car crash on the bridge, which officials said damaged the structure.

Township officials said the bridge would need to be inspected before it could be repaired.

“The township will make every effort to get these repairs done as soon as possible,” township officials said in an alert posted to the township website, although they did not offer a timetable of when the bridge may reopen.

Township officials were not immediately available to provide more details on the damage to the bridge.

An Allegheny County 911 dispatcher could not provide any additional information about the crash or the bridge closure.
