Walmart is joining the growing number of grocery retailers that are making the move to home delivery.

On Thursday, eight Pittsburgh-area Walmarts will launch a grocery delivery service that will cost $7.95 to $9.95, depending on the time of delivery.

The stores are as follows:

ALLEGHENY COUNTY

North Versailles

Robinson

Tarentum

West Mifflin

BEAVER COUNTY

Beaver falls

Economy

WASHINGTON COUNTY

Washington

WESTMORELAND COUNTY

North Huntington

Interested customers should go to Walmart.com/grocery and enter their ZIP code to see if they are in a delivery area. They can shop and choose their delivery time online.

Orders will be put together by a trained Walmart personal shopper, and deliveries will be made by Point Pickup, said Carrie Nagy, Market eCommerce manager for Pittsburgh.

Deliveries can be made in as little as four hours, she said.

Walmart is offering unlimited free delivery through Feb. 1 to customers who use the code HOMEFREE, Nagy said.

More Walmart stores in Southwestern Pennsylvania will be brought into the delivery service over the course of the year, she said.
