• Emergency crews respond to a house explosion
Emergency crews are on the scene of a house explosion in Crescent.
Allegheny County officials say first responders were called to a house in the 1400 block of Riverview Road on Tuesday before 9 a.m.
• Rep. Frankel seeks details about imminent closure of UPMC Montefiore dental center
Susan Manko, a spokeswoman for the hospital system, confirmed late Monday that the “UPMC Dental Center is transitioning care to Pitt Dental Medicine to provide patients with the highest level of dental care.”
UPMC’s partnership with Pitt Dental Medicine will “ensure that we are meeting patient needs while not duplicating services,” she said.

The return comes almost a year after he was diagnosed with bladder cancer, not long after an 80th birthday concert/celebration for the Pittsburgh music luminary known for songs such as “Ah! Leah!” and “Love Is Like a Rock,” as well as “The Rapper,” from his time in the Jaggerz.
• License plate readers becoming more common, helpful to police
Springdale is set to be the latest community to use license plate readers at its intersections.
The borough’s police department adopted the Automated National Noninvasive Insurance Enforcement (ANNIE) program, Chief Derek Dayoub said.
Dayoub said ANNIE is a community policing and problem-solving program for police departments to address a nationwide problem of uninsured and unregistered vehicles.
• Tenants face deadline to move as Latrobe condemns bug-infested apartment building
Vanessa Jordan and a few dozen of her closest neighbors are in the same situation because the city condemned the six-story apartment building they share at 333 Main St.
“I just have no idea where I’m going to go,” Jordan said Monday.
The city found more than 100 code violations at the building in September, when it conducted an inspection after receiving multiple complaints about conditions in the structure.

Greensburg could demolish shuttered parking garage near Westmoreland Hospital this summer
Greensburg City Council approved an agreement Monday with Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital to repurpose $1.5 million in state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program funding to demolish the adjacent Hutchinson parking garage.
