U.S. Summer Lee, center, speaks to constiuents at her new office in East Liberty on April 14, 2023.

U.S. Rep. Summer Lee, D-Swissvale, opened a constituent service center in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty on Friday.

The office, on the eighth floor at 211 North Whitefield St., will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.

Lee, who is in her first term, said her office will have staffers to provide typical constituent services, such as immigration and passport services, but she also wants to help people in other ways. For example, she said her staff will help seniors get to the grocery store and assist college graduates with applications for student debt relief.

Lee’s 12th Congressional District includes Pittsburgh, eastern Allegheny County suburbs and the Mon Valley, as well as Westmoreland County communities such as Murrysville, North Huntingdon, Penn Township, Sewickley Township, Jeannette and parts of Hempfield.

Lee also plans to run pop-up offices to serve communities farther from the city of Pittsburgh, and potentially in the future open a second office closer to Westmoreland County communities.
