A former Hempfield Area School District student will serve three years on probation after police found 16 weapons in his car parked at the high school in March.

Rocco P. Valore, 18, of Greensburg pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of possession of weapons on school property.

Police conducted a search of Valore’s car after students were overheard talking about the weapons in it. Prior to the search, police said Valore admitted to having “some knives, Airsoft and BB guns in the vehicle.”

According to court records, police found five rifles, four pistols, seven knives and ammunition.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Court Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio said Valore’s probation could end after two years if he complies with the terms of his supervision.
