North Huntingdon police bust Penn Hills man on marijuana charges

A Penn Hills man whose vehicle ran out of gas allegedly had 29 marijuana plants stuffed in multiple bags stashed in his car when North Huntingdon police arrested him early Wednesday morning.

Lamar D. Kincaid, 55, is accused of having several large garbage bags of marijuana plants about 3 feet tall in the vehicle’s back seat and trunk, Officer Mark Hamilton said in court papers. The roots were still attached.

Hamilton said he saw Kincaid’s Hyundai stopped on Clay Pike at 8:10 a.m. with emergency flashing lights activated. The officer followed Kincaid’s car as it traveled down Barnes Lake Road, but it apparently ran out of gas.

Kincaid then pushed the car from the outside and tried to steer it down hill, when he lost control.

The vehicle backed over a hill, hit two gas meters and a block wall, Hamilton stated.

Kincaid consented to a vehicle search and told police he had “a large amount of marijuana” in his car. Hamilton said he smelled marijuana on Kincaid and wafting from his car.

Kincaid was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent deliver. He was arraigned before North Huntingdon District Justice Wayne Gongaware and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Nov. 27 before Gongaware, and did not have an attorney listed in court papers.
