Five people were displaced from their Jacobs Creek house after a fire broke out Wednesday, Turkeytown Fire Chief Larry Nemec said.

Crews from several area departments responded to the Main Street fire shortly after 4 p.m., which started in the kitchen and spread into the rest of the home.

“The house is totally destroyed,” he said.

No one was injured during the incident, Nemec said.

American Red Cross is housing the people for the night.
