Allegheny County’s four swimming facilities will open June 6 for the summer season.
Allegheny County Parks announced that, weather permitting, Boyce Park Wave Pool in Monroeville, North Park Swimming Pool in McCandless, Settlers Cabin Wave Pool in Robinson and South Park Wave Pool in Bethel Park will open the first Saturday in June.
Daily hours for all county pools are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Concessions also will be open each day.
Boyce, Settlers Cabin and South parks feature wave pools with sloping entry ramps that allow visitors to gradually enter the water.
The North Park swimming pool holds 2 million gallons of water. There’s a mechanical lift to help people enter at the shallow end, plus a baby pool and a splash pad.
Season pool passes are on sale and provide unlimited access to all four county pools throughout summer, excluding Independence Day and Labor Day.
Pool passes for those 18 to 59 are $135 for residents and $169 for nonresidents.
Resident family passes for two adults and two children, or one adult and three children, are $235, with an additional $30 for each extra family member; they cost $294 for non-residents and $38 more for each extra family member.
Pool passes for those 60 and older are $65 for residents and $81 for nonresidents.
Pool passes may be bought online or in person at any county pool or at the Boyce, North or South park offices during the season. All pass holders must have a photo taken before using their pass.
In addition to the county pools, the Deer Lakes spray park in West Deer and the Round Hill spray park in Elizabeth will also open for the season on June 6. Entry is free of charge.
