Hampton Township Police Department is located at 3101 McCully Road.

A 72-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Hampton.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman Sunday as Jean Carroll of Richland.

According to the medical examiner, the crash happened about 3:45 p.m. at Route 8 and Old Route 8 in Hampton. She died around 6:30 p.m. at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Hampton police Chief Thomas Vulakovich said Carroll was alone in her car, as was the man driving the other car. One was traveling south on Route 8 while the other was traveling north, and they collided when one turned onto Old Route 8.

He was not more specific about the circumstances of the crash, as it remains under investigation.

The other driver also was taken to a hospital. Vulakovich did not know his condition on Monday.
