Woman injured in overnight shooting in Wilkinsburg

A woman was shot multiple times in Wilkinsburg early Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Ardmore Boulevard and Marlboro Avenue around 2 a.m., an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher said.

First responders found a woman who had been shot in the shoulder and leg, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

WPXI reported a vehicle on the scene riddled with bullets.

The ramp to the Parkway East from Ardmore Boulevard is currently closed as Allegheny County police investigate.

A 911 dispatcher could not provide additional details regarding the shooting.
