As Election Day nears, it’s important to confirm the location of your polling place. If you opt to vote in-person, trained poll workers will assist you at your polling place. Poll workers are the gears that make elections run smoothly by ensuring all eligible voters can exercise their rights to cast a ballot.

Serving as a poll worker can be informative and rewarding — and you get paid! To be a poll worker in Allegheny County, you must be registered to vote here. The League of Women Voters encourages all voters to serve as a poll worker at some point. It’s a public service. You experience the steps taken to ensure voting integrity. And you learn about the mechanics of elections.

Each election in Allegheny County requires more than 6,000 poll workers. Many still are needed for the May 19 primary election. If you’d like to be a poll worker in Allegheny County, go to www.alleghenycounty.us/Government/Elections/Poll-Workers. Thank you for your commitment to civic engagement!
