It is with great pleasure that I send this letter as my endorsement to reelect Tim Carson in the upcoming election for Westmoreland County coroner.

I’ve had the opportunity to work as a deputy coroner in the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office for more than 40 years. It is great to see Carson continue to assess and improve the office.

Some of Carson’s accomplishments include the recent International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners Accreditation, the partnership with the LOSS team to provide assistance and support to those experiencing loss through suicide, the partnership with the national Cribs for Kids program in both safe sleeping education and in providing a safe sleeping environment in an effort to reduce preventable loss of life and his continued efforts to properly bury 57 unclaimed remains, including 15 U.S. veterans who proudly served our great country.

Carson’s accomplishments are worth noting especially when some have questioned his experience or abilities to serve as the coroner, a post I know has great meaning to him. Carson’s accomplishments attest to his qualifications as the primary managing officer and his ability to recruit and retain experienced and highly qualified death investigators.

I support Tim Carson and wish him the best in the upcoming election. I look forward to seeing him lead continued improvements in the coroner’s office.
