Letter to the editor: Nothing comic about concern over Trump

In answer to the letter “Liberals won’t see the truth” (Jan. 18, TribLive): After the thousands of documented lies told by President Donald Trump, the writer accuses liberals of being “ignorant.” He claims that the “talking points” of “Russia, Russia, Russia, tax breaks for the rich, a convicted felon, the great insurrection of Jan. 6” have been “debunked.”

He states that liberal letter-writers provide “comic relief.” What is comic about civility, decency and virtue, all of which Trump lacks? He has been found guilty in a court of law of sexual abuse, fraud and tax evasion, just to name a few.

I’m appalled at the letter-writer’s condoning of Trump’s behavior and saddened by the lack of common sense of the majority.
