Letter to the editor: Protect children by releasing Epstein list

Tribune-Review

Would we want a criminal history check done if a person applied for a position at a bank, a police department, a casino? Why do any less to protect our children than we would do to protect our money? Children deserve to be protected from pedophiles, child abusers, child rapists.

I feel that perhaps many of the people on Jeffrey Epstein’s client list would not pass a child abuse clearance. However, we don’t know who they are because the list hasn’t been released. Epstein was a known convicted sex offender. He had a list of clients who allegedly represented the upper crust of society and likely did awful things to children. We deserve to know who they are.

We are not asking that our politicians have the courage to storm the beach at Omaha, just to have the decency to release all of the Epstein files so our children can be protected from abusers. Are the politicians more concerned with protecting their big campaign donors, in other words protecting their money, or protecting our children?
