There was never a slush fund created to compensate the Confederate rebels who fired on Fort Sumter in 1861 to start our Civil War. Why should we now be willing to create a nearly $2 billion fund to pay the Jan. 6 rebels who attacked our nation’s capital, many carrying Confederate flags, along with Trump and Nazi signs? Almost all of these violent criminals have already been granted pardons by President Trump, which is more amnesty than they deserve.

Trump, however won’t need any pardons, since the document revealed last week stated that the government would be “FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED” from prosecuting tax claims against anyone in the Trump family or Trump’s businesses. This is an utterly shameless move to put the president and his family permanently above the law.

We are no longer a nation of law.
