Letter to the editor: Voting for Trump with smiles

Al Duerig’s letter “Wild claims about climate change, Trump, reparations” (Aug. 19, TribLIVE) is both laughable and insulting to letter-writer Rudy Gagliardi. I think Duerig is another hate-filled Democrat who can’t accept the obvious.

I have been on this earth more years that I care to admit, and the climate has always been a main subject. Too warm, ice melting, more storms than usual, etc. And here we are, with the same comments and projections I heard many years ago. Al Gore and many others did get rich promoting climate change panic. One Democrat said the world will end in 12 years. Mother Nature has always taken care of itself, for sure.

President Trump has accomplished a lot. Higher pay for many, tariffs, countries paying their share for NATO, industrial restrictions lifted to create more jobs — and the list goes on. And what did President Obama give us? An insurance program that has been a nightmare for many. Obama apologized for America (I don’t know what for) and spent his time giving speeches. I don’t know if Obama was a racist, but I don’t think he did anything for his own race as expected.

So, Mr. Duerig, go watch Fox News and read Rudy Gagliardi, and I will have smiles when we vote for Trump in 2020.

Editor’s note: New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez explained that her comment, “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change,” was intended as sarcasm.
