Steelers' Art Rooney II declines to discuss departures of Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell

Art Rooney II is looking forward and not back as he prepares for the NFL annual meeting in Phoenix.

On a conference call Friday with reporters, the Pittsburgh Steelers president opted not to discuss the departures of Pro Bowl players Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.

Both players took verbal jabs at the organization in general and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in particular. Rooney, though, would not discuss either player specifically when asked about their departures.

“We are excited about the players we are going to have and are going to have in the building,” Rooney said, via The Athletic, “and are looking forward to getting started on the 2019 season.”

Brown was traded to the Oakland Raiders for third-round and fifth-round selections in the April draft. Bell, after sitting out a season, signed with the New York Jets.
