The week ahead: Pirates to welcome Giants, Reds

Here’s a look at next week’s Pittsburgh Pirates schedule:

vs. Giants

6:40 p.m. Monday (SN PIT)

• The Giants come to town looking for revenge after being swept by the Pirates earlier this week. The Bucs outscored San Francisco, 11-7, as the Giants dropped their sixth in a row. The Giants were 10-15 in July after acquiring slugger Rafael Devers via trade in June. Devers is batting .219 with four homers and 15 RBIs in 37 games with the Giants.

vs. Reds

• Ke’Bryan Hayes will return to PNC Park just days after the Pirates dealt the Gold Glove third baseman to the Reds. Cincinnati also added starting pitcher Zack Littell (8-8, 3.58 ERA) at the trade deadline as they hope to stay in the playoff chase. The Reds swept the Pirates in April. The Pirates then won two of three in a May series at home.
