I recently attended a performance of Pine-Richland High School’s musical “42nd Street.” What an enjoyable evening. Professionals couldn’t have staged a better show. The set decorations and scenery rivaled what you see in major cultural sites.

The cast was no less amazing. Vocals and dance routines were top notch, especially the tap routines. The pit orchestra was stellar, as good as you are going to hear anywhere.

Our music department is in very capable hands. Music teacher and band director Will Guess has done an outstanding job from day one. He had some huge shoes to fill, and his feet were just the right size. We are fortunate indeed to have him here. Bravo, Maestro!

Despite some of the negative press the school district gets, our music department is like a shining beacon on a sometimes dark and stormy night.
