Letter to the editor: Democrats keep digging their hole

You may have heard the old adage, “When you are in a hole, stop digging.” I guess the Democrats, however, are either too dumb to understand it, or they are worried that their golden goose, the administrative state, is about to be cooked. I think it’s the latter.

Dems are screaming about everything President Trump is doing, trying to resist by making up asinine claims of a constitutional crisis and worries about an unelected Elon Musk, who is tasked with exposing government waste and fraud. In my opinion, President Biden spit on the Constitution when he failed to protect U.S. citizens by not securing the borders, allowing criminals to prey on Americans, spending billions on benefits for illegals and ignoring the Supreme Court with his student loan bailouts. No Democrat called these acts a constitutional crisis. And no one elected the bureaucrats responsible for the wasteful spending.

Complaining about cutting the federal workforce is also laughable. Remember when the government forced private businesses to close during covid? Two million Americans lost their jobs. I didn’t hear any Democrats complaining. The hypocrisy is monumental.

Musk has also found that there actually are controls in place to assure all government payments are legit. Bureaucrats are supposed to check and sign off. But no one checks. Why do we pay them?

Keep digging that hole, Democrats. You are burying yourselves by bringing more publicity to your hypocrisy. Voters are sick of it.

Editor’s note: The word “illegals” had been replaced with “immigrants.” It has been corrected.
