Letter to the editor: Hempfield renovations uninspired

I saw the renovation rendering of the front of Hempfield Area High School. It looked like something you would see at a Google office or industrial headquarters — benign, uninspired office/industrial plastic frontage. No Western Pennsylvania sandstone or limestone, no hemlock or maple lumber, no local identity, no soul.

Perhaps that fits the “vision” of the high-priced architects who may not even live in the area, or industrial builders who go with whatever “look” is trendy.

Surely someone, perhaps a Spartan student or Hempfield graduate, could come up with an entrance with more appeal and substance before construction begins.
