Letter to the editor: Save the ink — Pirates will keep losing

Most companies in the world have employees whose job is to cut cost. I have a suggestion for TribLive on that matter. At the beginning of each baseball season on the first day of the regular season, print in big bold print on top of the sports page PIRATES LOSE April 25 through Sept. 25, or whatever the dates are, and boom, you are done for the season, no more ink required. The why’s and where’s, no one cares.

The Pirates resemble the government in that people still get paid if they are efficient or not. No sweat off their backs; they still drive home to their big houses in their expensive rides, leaving anyone still giving them money with dirt in their mouths.

Why not use some of that saved ink to print more on being 90 seconds away from nuclear holocaust, according to the nuclear clock, or tips on how people with little to no money can start work on their forever bunkers or how to preserve their forever food? That’s what an ostrich calls fearmongering, while their head is in the sand and their butt is in the air. That only ends one way, and it isn’t good.

So if you continue to have money to burn, I recommend playing the lotto instead of financing the opulent lifestyles of the undeserving. As far as fantasies are concerned, Pirates win, lotto win, take your pick.
