Letter to the editor: Solving a rodent problem, Stooge-style

There is a rodent problem. With the best of intentions I set a trap. The old lethal type of trap used by the Three Stooges. No matter how life changes, the Stooges breaking fingers, ears and noses in traps like the one I was using is almost scientifically comical.

Worked. The dead rat I found was comical. A person might need a sick sense of humor to think this was funny, but I must temper that thought with billions of people who, to this day, love the Three Stooges, and laugh like a hyena when Moe, Larry and Curly get injured using lethal spring traps. Note that the Stooges survived their injuries, and the rat lost its life to that trap I set. I’m conceding that point. I’m a gentleman.

I made a 15-second video reel, with a picture of the rat while telling an innocuous rat joke. The rat looked comical, dead, naturally, its long tail curled upward like a question mark in rigor mortis.

Proud of my handiwork, I uploaded it to YouTube. They emailed me. I was cruel to animals. They erased my video reel. It was explained in the email that sensitive people hate what I did, with a vengeance. If I do it again I could get bounced off YouTube altogether.

I faced censorship for dealing with a rat problem the same way as Larry, Curly and Moe.

Am I a Stooge for using a lethal rat trap? Who knows? It’s the North Side.
