An 87-year-old Fayette County man who wandered from his home Monday was discovered dead about one mile from his residence on Thursday, according to state police in Uniontown.

Troopers and the family had issued a missing persons alert for Luther Bryner of Dunbar Township, who was last seen in the vicinity of Rankin Airshaft Road in the township about 10:30 p.m. Monday. Authorities were concerned because Bryner had multiple health issues.

Trooper Robert Broadwater said foul play is not suspected. He reported that Bryner’s body was discovered in a field near Bute Road.

“We believe Mr. Bryner’s poor health conditions and the elements were contributing factors. We also think he became disoriented,” Broadwater said.
