Pittsburgh SWAT officers were called to the scene of a shooting in the city’s Beltzhoover neighborhood late Monday night.

Police officers responded to a Shotspotter alert for 13 rounds fired in the 300 block of Curtin Avenue around 11:10 p.m., according to Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokesman Maurice Matthews. Officers located the scene in the 400 block of Freeland Street where they determined gunfire occurred between someone inside a home and someone outside.

According to Matthews, the front door of the home was open. Officers gave commands through the door asking if anybody was inside.

SWAT officers called to the scene “out of an abundance of caution,” Matthews said, determined the home was unoccupied.

There are no reported injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
